Christmas Cookies | Friday Favorites

Do you make cookies for friends or neighbors this time of year?  I usually like to pick 2 or 3 sweet treats to make for my neighbors, postman, dog sitter, etc…  Just a little something to say “thank you”.

I’ve made some of the recipes that I’m sharing with you today.  And some are ones that I found recently and would love to try this year.

First up, the tried and true sugar cookie from Damn Delicious.

Next is my husband’s personal favorite…the peanut butter blossom from Betty Crocker.

Who loves peppermint bark?  This girl right here!  Here’s a no-bake peppermint bark cookie recipe from The Suburban Soapbox.

What says Christmas more than gingerbread men?  I made gingerbread men cookies earlier this month, but I bought the pre-made mix from the store.  I think I’ll try my hand at this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction.

Next up, hot cocoa cookies from Glorious Treats!

My 9 year old loves to watch Food Network, particularly baking shows.  The other night she was watching a Christmas cookie competition and someone made melting snowman cookies similar to these from My Frugal Adventures.  Cute, right?!

Are you drooling yet?!  Well, I’ve still got a couple of more to share with you.  How about these chewy ginger molasses cookies from Gimme Some Oven!

Technically this last one is not a cookie.  However, I’ve been making them for the past 6 years and they’re always a huge hit.  So I felt like they needed to be included in this list. 🙂  Feast your eyes on these Oreo truffles from Cooking Classy.

What are some of your favorite treats to make and give away at Christmastime? 0000

Happy Friday everyone!  Including today, there are only 3 more Fridays until Christmas!!  Are you ready?  I’ve got all my gifts bought, but I haven’t wrapped a single one.  That’s on my to-do list for next week. 😉

Today, I want to share some of the most beautifully decorated trees that I’ve come across on the blogosphere.  I’m not gonna lie…I’ve got a little Christmas tree envy.  These 5 trees are stunning!  Wanna see?

Friday Favorites | Father’s Day Gift Guide 2015 | Tulsa Portrait Photographer

Well, school is out, summer is underway and Father’s Day is just around the corner!  I received so much positive feedback about my Mother’s Day gift guide that I thought I would put together one for Father’s Day too.  I don’t know about you, but I always find it difficult to shop for the men in my life.  I always had a hard time picking out gifts for my dad when I was growing up because he never gave us any idea as to what he wanted.  Well, I have the same problem with my husband now!

I’ve put together some items that I think most men would like to have, whether it’s your own dad or your husband.  Hopefully this will help some of you out!  All items have links on where to purchase at the bottom of this post.

Can you believe this coming weekend is Memorial weekend?  How is this year flying by so fast?  I am looking forward to lounging by the pool with my kiddos this summer and making fun memories that they will hopefully remember for the rest of their lives.  I’ve been browsing the internet and have come up with a list of items that I think will make days at the pool much more enjoyable.

Have you all heard about Mommy Mailbox yet?  It is fabulous!  It is a monthly subscription service, similar to Ipsy or Birchbox.  Mommy Mailbox provides a monthly care package full of goodies to uplift mothers.  This is the second month that I received my goodies and I am, once again, thrilled with everything.

Quoted directly from their website, “Each box is curated by a different guest blogger, who shares a piece of her style with you by including her favorite goodies.  Items are a mix of fashion, gourmet food, fitness, art, home decor and beauty.”

Here’s what came in this month’s box…

* There was also a $20 gift certificate to Salt & Pepper Tees

If you haven’t subscribed to Mommy Mailbox yet, I highly recommend it.  I love getting a little something just for me in the mail each month.  Since Mother’s Day is just a few days away, you could hint to your significant other that this would be an easy, no brainer gift or you could sign your own mother up for a subscription.
