And just like that, the school year is over. I’m not going to lie, I have been ready for summer for weeks now! The end of the school year is always so jam-packed with activities. I just get worn out. Add to it that this was my daughter’s last year in elementary school. (I’m not crying, you’re crying!)
Wowzers! It’s been quite a while since I last shared anything on here with you all. In an effort to keep myself a little organized, I’m going to share our most recent summer travels and then work backwards from there.
We decided that it would be fun to spend 4th of July at our nation’s capitol this year. It was hot, crowded, and we did more walking than I ever want to do again. However, we had a great time and I think the kids really enjoyed being able to see part of our country’s history. We managed to make it to the National Archives, The Natural History Museum, The Air & Space Museum, and The American History Museum. We were also able to make it to the White House, the Capitol, and most of the monuments and memorials.
Our first full day there was July 4th and we started the day off with a parade.
We ended the day with a concert at the steps of the Capitol and then watching fireworks on the Mall.
I don’t have many photos from inside the museums, but here are some of the highlights from around the city!
If you’ve been waiting for a deal to grab your oily starter kit, I’ve got a pretty great deal for you today!
For every kit sold from now until midnight, I will be buying a puzzle piece ($20) to raise money to fund an adoption for the Tucker family.
The puzzle piece will have your name on the back and go in a double sided glass frame in the baby’s room forever and ever. So cool.
You can grab your Premium Starter Kit as a wholesale member HERE.
And if you don’t want a kit and just want to donate, you can do that HERE.
2017 was a good year for our family. We traveled a lot, made some great memories, my baby started kindergarten, we hosted an exchange student from Spain, and both my hubby and I turned 40 in Mexico with some of our closest friends. Thank you all for following along with our crazy life through this blog of mine. Cheers to 2018!

I am slowly but surely getting caught up on my travel posts. 🙂 Today I’m sharing our trip to the Smoky Mountains from October 2016. We loaded up the car and drove from Tulsa, OK to Gatlinburg, TN. If you’ve never been to the Smoky Mountains in the fall, you need to make a point and go! Friends, it was gorgeous! These pictures don’t do it justice. The colors were so vibrant and the air was crisp and clear.
Just outside of the entrance to the state park is a barbecue restaurant. We’re not huge bbq fans, but you know we couldn’t pass this place up! And of course, we bought hats. 🙂
