My husband and I just returned from a trip to New England. We went for my husband’s class reunion at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, but decided to turn it into a little getaway for the two of us. We flew up a couple of days early and stayed in Portsmouth, NH. We stayed downtown and walked through the entire town in one afternoon. It was such a quaint little town.
We drove down the coastline into northern Massachusetts and back up the coast to Kittery, Maine on the second day. Beautiful!! I’m a sucker for sailboats in the harbor, sandy beaches, lighthouses and churches with tall steeples. We decided to take the long way up to Hanover, NH and drove up through the White Mountains. The colors were stunning! I couldn’t take enough pictures.
We stayed at a B&B in Lyme, NH for the weekend of the reunion. It was tucked away up a long gravel road and sat perched up on a hill along the Connecticut River. They had adirondack chairs outside that you could just sit in and enjoy the scenery. Did I mention that we didn’t take our kids? There would have been no relaxing if they had accompanied us! I missed them like crazy, but I definitely enjoyed not having to worry about naps, sippy cups, meal schedules, etc…
It was great to see all of our friends that we met while we lived in New Hampshire for 2 years! It was also nice to play tourist and drive around and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage that New England is so well know for. Here are a few highlights from our trip.
